The kind of work that these girls have put in, you need to have that kind of dedication of wanting to achieve so much and do it so wonderfully. Further speaking about her regrets in an interview by writer Naman Ramachandran for the July 2016 issue of Vogue India, Bebo says, “I couldn’t complete my education. I kind of rushed into films, so I think that’s a sensitive part of my life and I always regret I never got to go to college”. 

Besides reading film scripts, there is something else that is keeping Kareena occupied these days: a wellness blog in association with nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, author of books like “Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight”. 

“We are thinking about a blog that addresses women and their problems in terms of food and exercise, pregnancy, menopause… So many different topics,” she said. 

The actress is currently riding high on the success of her latest release “Udta Punjab”. 

So where does Kareena see herself a decade down the line? 

“Hopefully giving another interview, making some sense, working all my life. I think we are in the habit of aping the West a lot. And the West has amazing actors who are married and with children. It has never stopped them. I think we are getting there,” she said.

Asked if going de-glam for the role was more difficult or abusing on the camera, Alia was quick to say: "None of them".

"Physical appearance never bothers me - it is the emotional quotient which I hope to understand, and fear that I will not understand," she said.

The Divorce is the formal Karisma and Sunjay

According to the terms of the divorce, Karisma got Sunjay’s residence in Khar, while the monthly interest of Rs 10 lakhs from bonds worth Rs 14 crore that Sunjay had bought in the childrens’ names will be used for their expenses. Sunjay, in turn, will get extended visitation rights with Samiera and Kiaan, while the dowry harassment case filed against him and his mother by Karisma will be quashed by the court.

Karisma and Sunjay tied the knot in September 2003. The marriage took place a short six months after Karisma’s engagement with Abhishek Bachchan — announced on Amitabh Bachchan’s 60th birthday in October 2002 — broke up.

It is said that Karisma and Abhishek began seeing each other after his sister Shweta married Karisma’s cousin Nikhil Nanda in 1997. The couple never revealed any reasons for their split, so close to their wedding date. Gossip around the subject cited parental interference, financial concerns, but there was never any confirmation.

In fact, Abhishek continued to be on cordial terms with Karisma’s younger sister, Kareena. Kareena and Abhishek had made their Bollywood debuts together in Refugee, and acted in Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon in 2003. And although not paired opposite each other, they were cast together in films like Yuva (2004).

Karisma and Sunjay welcomed their first child, Samiera, in 2005. (Abhishek himself married Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 2007). But rumours about the marriage being an unhappy one dogged the couple at every step. Some reports claimed the distance was to blame — Karisma wanted to continue living in Mumbai and wasn’t comfortable moving to Delhi, where Sunjay was based. The couple was even believed to be living separate lives. But then, when their second child — Kiaan — was born in 2010, it seemed that Karisma and Sunjay had reconciled, and settled all their differences.

But by 2012, the talk in B-town and Delhi’s circles was all about the breakdown in the Kapoor-Kapur marriage. And in 2014, they filed a petition for divorce by mutual content.

Karisma filed a case of harassment against Sunjay and his mother, stating that he had married her for her celebrity status; Sunjay responded by stating that the actress had married him “on the rebound” from Abhishek Bachchan, and because she wanted his money. Finally, the Supreme Court directed the warring couple to agree to a settlement in an amicable manner in April 2016.

It has been reported that at the end of the family court’s ruling on Monday, Karisma and Sunjay briefly embraced. It was a sign perhaps that after a bitter and fractious battle, the former couple would find a measure of compromise to ease their lives ahead.

'Udta Punjab ' Finally Being Treated as Adults

“Creative freedom should not be curbed unnecessarily and nobody can dictate a filmmaker about the content of his/her film,” said Justice SC Dharmadhikari while shooting down the request placed by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to snip out 13 scenes from Udta Punjab.

The film’s plot, about a Saint Joseph impregnating a mentally disturbed peasant who believes she’s the Virgin Mary, ignited a moral outrage that saw it described by the censor board as “sacrilegious” and “vile, harmful and blasphemous.”

Burstyn fought the invalidation of his license on the grounds that this “violates the First Amendment as a prior restraint upon freedom of speech and of the press” and that “the term ‘sacrilegious’ is so vague and indefinite as to offend due process”. The Supreme Court saw the censorship of the film as being a “restraint on freedom of speech” and thereby a violation of the First Amendment. This verdict was known as the ‘Miracle Decision’ and went down in history as a landmark decision which marked the weakening of motion picture censorship in the United States.

The Bombay High Court yesterday asked the CBFC to clear the film with just one cut, make changes in the disclaimer and stamp it as an adult film, all within 48 hours.

The scene where the protagonist Tommy Singh (Shahid Kapoor) urinates at the crowd while performing needs to be deleted, just. This was already suggested by the CBFC that the makers of the film eventually agreed to do.

Apart from this, the producers will have to make changes in the disclaimer and add the part that talks about the drug menace and how the government is making efforts to curb it.

Coming down heavily on the Censor Board, the bench comprising Justice Dharmadhikari and Justice Dr Shalini Phansalkar Joshi said that the film is in no way defaming the state and is not hurting the sovereignty or integrity of India.

“The CBFC should stop acting as a grandmother and should not waste the precious time of the court in such matters,” said Justice Dharmadhikari, adding that the film is in no way glorifying drug abuse and that it is based on fictional characters, which have no real life connection.

Senior counsel Ravi Kadam, appearing on behalf of one of the producers Phantom Films (Anurag Kashyap’s production house), argued that the signboard is necessary to stay in the film since the film is based in the state. The CBFC had earlier said that names of places in Punjab should be deleted from the movie, as they will end up hurting the sovereignty of the country.

The film directed by Abhishek Chaubey reportedly uses a lot of cuss words, which the Censor Board had asked the makers of the film to delete.

Akshay Kumar was in Delhi for a press meet of his upcoming film Housefull 3, where he revealed what wife Twinkle Khanna said after watching the trailer of his upcoming movie. The actor, who has time and again been seen holidaying with his family and taking them for movies and dinners, said Twinkle had wished him “Good Luck” after she watched the trailer. The Khiladi actor has come a long way in his career. He has done films of all genres, including drama, action, romance, comedy.

Akshay said, “This film is as important as laughter is in one’s life. It is a situational comedy film. I haven’t done such a film since many months and I felt that this is necessary for me to do because there are audience for such kind of films as well, who want to laugh.”

In the year 2016, no one has released an entertaining film. Every movie conveys a heavy message, like my film Airlift, Neerja, Sarbjit, Azhar and many more. But this film is the first film of this year that will be completely an entertaining film,” he added.

Akshay, who has been trained in martial arts, has been in the industry for decades now. His fitness is one of the most talked about things. When asked about his fitness mantra, the actor promptly replied, “The most important thing is positive thinking. It is important for your aura and there are few things that I always follow like eating before 6:30 or 7:00pm and work out for one hour. That is how I keep myself young.”
